Cable-actuated sensors, also known as cable-extension transducer, stringpots or draw-wire sensors, can detect and measure linear position and velocity using a flexible cable and spring-loaded spool.

The cable-actuated sensors are available with measurement ranges from 0-2" up to 0-1700" (0-50mm up to 0-43m). Potentiometric, analog (0-5V, 0-10V, 4-20mA) and digital outputs (incremental, RS232, CAN, DeviceNet) are available on many models.

Open frame and linear-to-rotational modules are also available for OEM and system integrators.
