ALS-5 - Thick Body Optical Linear Encoder

The ALS-5 is an optical linear encoder designed for precise measurements in industrial environments. With a robust and compact body, it offers high resolution and accuracy, making it ideal for applications requiring reliable linear measurements.

Utilizing an optical measurement principle with a glass scale, the ALS-5 can measure lengths ranging from 50 mm to 1500 mm. Its construction with a 5-ball bearing system ensures robust orientation and smooth operation, while the single seal protection safeguards against dust, shavings, dirt, and cutting fluids.

With a resolution of up to 1 µm and an accuracy of ±10 µm, the ALS-5 meets the demands of applications requiring high-precision linear measurements. Additionally, it offers 5 VDC TTL quadrature or 1 Vpp sinusoidal signal outputs, providing flexibility for integration with various control systems.

Installation of the ALS-5 is facilitated by its compact design and electrical connection options, including spiral cable with D-SUB 9-pin connectors for TTL signals or M16 8-pin female connectors for sinusoidal signals. The maximum traveling speed of 60 m/min allows for rapid operations without compromising accuracy.
