DS20 CatalogMetrolog® Plug Gauges - DS20 Series
Metrolog DS20 Plug Gauge Series was developed for high precision measurement of inner blind and thru hole diameters. Its rugged construction allows use on floor shops where continuous dimensional inspection is required. Its design has a mechanical gauge (available models "S", "D" e "FB") that converts the small tip radial movements into axial movements, an integrated high sensibility LVDT transducer that converts mechanical movements into electric signals, and a anodized casing. The electrical connection between DS20 Gauges and a measurement equipment, for example a M20-4S Column, is done by using a replaceable high quality cable. This design allows quick faulty cable replacement by the user with minimum stop time. DS20 Gauges can be manufactured with diameters from 2.98mm up to 270mm, and have a measuring range from 0.1mm up to 0.2mm (size dependent). Its high precision construction and high sensibility LVDT transducer results in repeatability of 0.001mm and linearity error lower then 0.0005mm. |

DS20 - "S" Models (General applications)
The S models are ideal for diameter inspection when it is not required positioning nearby the hole extremities. For inspection near the hole entry it is recommended the D models and for bottom blind hole measurements it is recommended the FB models.

DS20 - "D" Models (for thru holes)
The D models are ideal for inspection of thru holes where the diameter nearby the entry/exit borders should be measured. These models have the contact tips away from the gauge entry face allowing correct alignment during insertion. For blind holes it is recommended the FB models.

DS20 - "FB" Models (for blind holes)
The FB models are ideal for measuring diameters at blind holes where inspection should be done nearby the hole bottom. These models have tips alignment to the gauge top face. For thru hole it is recommended the D models.

Ordering codes
The plug gauge code will vary based on the diameter that will be used for. For example, for inspection of hole with diameter of 28.000mm and tolerance of -0.050 e +0.030, the ordering code will be:
DS20-S10-CR27.950 ("S" model, general use)
It is important to check the maximum measuring range possible for the selected model. On the given example the DS20-S10 model has a measuring range of 0.2 mm. It means that will be possible to measure diameters from 27.950mm up to30,150mm. Optionally would be possible to order the same plug with a centered measuring field. In this case since the considered diameter is 28.000mm it is possible to order a DS20 gauge for minimum diameter of 27.900mm, using the following order code:
DS20-S10-CR27.900 ("S" model, general use)
The effective measuring field in this case will be from 27.900mm to 28.100mm, allowing the inspection of the originally defined tolerances (-0.050 e +0.030mm) plus an additional range on each side.
